Hi Everyone,
I would like to get my 2.0 TDI (143) remapped, its a 2011 model, so not sure how it all works as I think some can't be done directly.
Anyone on here done it, was it worth it, which gains did you get?
Cheers.

Hello !
The ECU is the engine control unit which is a small box which controls the engine underneath a pannel under the bonnet,
As the car is a new model like mine the ECU (engine control unit) has a tri core locked ECU to prevent remapping.. but still can be remppaed, they will take the ECU out of the car, the ECU is bolted in by bolts which the heads pop off when they are fully screwed in so they have to pattern a screwdriver pattern on the bolts locking the ecu in and unscrew and unlock the ECU via there computer and insert it back into the car again, and put new bolts back into it again so Audi can not tell that it has been fiddled with rarely they look at the ECU anyway. then they remap it by the old fashioned way ( under the steering wheel) they take out the engine data and send it revo and revo will send it back with different performance which will be uploaded to your car, as the ECU has to come off your car to be unlocked to remap there is abit of extra work and time to do so be expected to pay abit more than a normal remap price.
I would recommend a revo remap as they are one of the best and well known for vag cars and you will have 100% peace at mind, you will expect to get a few mpg more aswell depending on how you drive it.
with a revo remap you should be look at about 181 bhp and 290 lbs/ft torque (392 nm)
visit Revo |o find a local revo dealer near you, all the garages on the map are authorised to do the job right
There are more remapped cars than you actually think and it will not harm your car, the bhp and torque are still well with in its limits of engine components so nothing will go wrong you will get slightly more wear to some engine components but not much but as you would do anyway if you drive fast often, it will also put abit extra wear onto your tyres, it will remove all flat spots and much more power in all of the gears and any rev range it will totally transform the car, there is a large improvement as you look at a 143 bhp like yours which does 0-60 in 9.4 and you look at one exactly the same but a 170 bhp does 0-60 in 8.3 but the revo puts it up to 180 so there is abit more to go on top of that and when you also add the extra torque on top that will help much better aswell,
personally i own a 2011 audi a4 2.0 tfsi quattro 211 bhp which i have had a revo remap and all is good so far, everybody thinks that the remap is worth it and i have never heard any bad reviews about a revo remap personally i think it is your best bet.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask and let me know how you go on if you get it remapped or not
Thanks very much![]()

Mine's a 2008 143 and just got it remapped last week. The performance increase is brilliant, upto 175-180 bhp and torque up from 235 to 290. Its not just the acceleration it pulls a lot better from low revs and 3rd gear is superb. Mine was done by cheshire autotech over xmas period for £200 and he came out to my house aswell. The car should leave the factory with this power. Ive only just got car and as my last car was a 220bhp 2.0T going to a 143 tdi was disapointing but this has put a huge smile on my face. Mpg not decreased either, maybe better? If yours is a 2011 i think your ecu has to be removed as audi lock them so will probs cost you more but i would still defo recommend getting it done.
Will a remap void a warranty? I guess the car will be capable but what about the clutch? I had a b6 remapped then 5 month later the clutch started slipping!! 😭
Cheers for the replies, I knew how it works on the 2.0T but wasnt sure if the 2.0 TDI had the same lock thingy on the ECU.
Im interested by the Revo, but being in Spain it's not the easiest.
well some people say it does some people say it doesn't, but i suppose it wont void your warranty on say for example parking sensors or a radio but anything to do with an engine component and Audi prove that the remap has caused the problem then it will void you warranty then unless Audi has proved the problem has been caused by the remap that is when they will void your warranty
Yep i am pretty sure it is locked, all vag cars from 2009 onwards have been locked up, but tuners have found a way around this :P
my 2009 2.0 tdi 170 ppd wasnt locked.Colin from cnlremapping did mine.well impressed.Got a 30bhp gaine and more torque.Could have had a bit more if it wasnt for the wretched dpf
Hey guys,
2 questions
Gaz J hows the car since remapped any problems?
And has anyone heard of Tuning | Engine Tuning | ECU Remaps | Celtic Tuning ?

Had no probs(touch wood) upto now and have had it done for just over a month. Would defo recommend it to anyone. It pulls a lot more than it used to. Take the plunge and get it done. Ive heard of celtic tuning as i got quote off them but it was about £350 maybe a little more? So I went with cheshire autotech as they quoted me £250 but i bartered them down. Blair who done the job was knowledgeable and a decent fella.
