Does your Tiptronic hum or drone before a gear change?

Mine does about 50% of gear changes. Previous owner said he had audi and a indipentant garage look at it and they said nothing wrong.

Just before a gear change i get a slight hum/drone, gear changes over and hum stops untill next change over.

Im sending it to Audi tomorrow to see what they say.

Is it normal?

Just before i give audi 50 quid to say yay or nay!

on my S4 there isn't any noise at all when the gears change. is yours a paddle shift or just the gear stick in the middle?

Both, its doesnt drone when in manual. Only in full Auto.

hmmm, never done it once this morning. Think i may hold off from send car to audi.
