Off Topic but i think its something im thinking about getting for the MRS for her car

Heater

I heard about the horror of the woman that was clearing the ice off her screen and got run down by a thief who stole her car.

any thoughts guys has anyone got one of these or similar do they really work?

how quick do they work?

blowing on the screen will defrost it quicker than one of those things....

i have one on the way, should of been here Monday right enough, as my heater matrix is fecked am gonna use this as a wee stop gap till getting it fixed

lol your headlamp bulb produces most of its 55w draw as heat! Thats really not going to do very much!

thought warm water froze quicker thean cold or is that boiled water

when i used to drive a company van i used to start it with the wipers on then pour the water on the screen that way the ice wont freeze up again.


ok, thanks for your thoughts and having read some reviews i wont be buying the heater.

is there anything she can put on the screen say the night before to stop the screen from icing over?

Hesian sack, normal plastic sack, not bin bags. you can buy plastic covers that clip into the front doors that cover the windscreen.

Lukewarm water for years and not a problem, wiper on tip is also useful.
