alarm light flashing

I have noticed that all of a sudden my indicators don't flash when I lock the car but they do when I unlock it. Any ideas??

Is the LED by the lock button flashing??

If not it could be a door switch, making the car think a door is open

Try cleaning the switch in the bonnet lock as these are notorious for getting full of crap etc. A good clean should suffice or just check with a continuity tester if the switch is switching. i've changed a number of these over the years, comes as a complete bonnet catch.

Does anyone know where the switch is for the alarm under the bonnet. I've had a look around and cannot see it anywhere.

evening! it's to the right of the bonnet catch. about a foot or two away along the same panel, if it is there. mine's disconnected and is on my to do list!

B5 factory alarm switch is built into the bonnet lock mechanism. I has a wiring plug on it, just disconnect it first and see if that helps. Can't remember whether the contacts ar normally open or normally closed so either way disconnet it firs and then try bridging it.
