Just got my 52-reg 2.4SE back from its 70,000 mile service & MOT. The car feels great, but the indie garage (Sanspeed in Bexleyheath) suspects a leak in the condenser. They've re-gassed it with dye, and told me to run it for a few days, then bring it back for inspection.

While I was there, they phoned round checked prices for a new condenser, Bexley Audi quoted £315 plus VAT, but Sanspeed's own supplier (possibly GSF, not sure) quoted £166 plus VAT for a Valeo unit, which is probably OEM anyway.

I hope it's a false alarm and it doesn't need replacing, but if it does, the choice of supplier really is a bit of a no-brainer. Unless, of course, anyone here knows of a better price???

Its like Andy said on your thread Sage, Audi Dont even manufacture the condensors, its out of order how they can get away charging such stupid amount ****** robbing ******* (excuse my french):tapedshut:

Actually, J7USS, I think in this case your french is rather good!!!!!!!!!!!:salute:

I paid £299 all in for a new condensor, fitted and gassed up. This was from a local air-con specialist. It was the Valeo condensor the guy fitted.....
