Hi all, new to the site and already having issues.

I put the key in the ignition, turn the key to start the car, ignition is fine in the sense, that the ok message comes up as it should and all the correct lights come on and then go off as they should.

But when you turn the key to fire the engine, it struggles to turn over, but not from a problem with the engine I don't think, it sounds more electrical, like a contact isn't being made properly.

Has anyone else had this issue before, or can anyone shed light on it?

Cheers all

Tired starter motor or battery would be my 1st suspects.

I thought that, but the battery is fine and the starter sounds perfect when it does turn over.

There's a problem with the key unlocking the car. It kind of doesn't.
Im wondering whether the key issue might be affecting the immobiliser? Shot in the dark

Scan the car with VCDS and see if any faults.

If it was the immobiliser that car would start very briefly then stall.

As above, it could be a weak cell in the battery or a sticky/tired starter.
