as i mentioned in another thred my wiper motor had packed in! this was letting water condensation behind the pannel on the boot! thus shorting out the bootlid central locking making the boot open of its own accord and setting the alarm off!!! i went to buy a new motor today and had to order it! its not coming till wednsday! so in the meantime ive striped out the old motor and dryed out all the condensation with a hairdryer and bunged up the hole in the rear screen with a rubber glove! everything seems bone dry now but the boot is still opening itself! has anyone else had this problem an if so will it go away now the car is dry or is somthing else now broken!

try to dry the lock out
if not looks like a new 1

Hi yes I had this problem its the water getting on the contacts where the boot lid shuts wipe dry this should resolve as I too had the same issue, as soon as I replaced the motor and cleaned the contact all ok

snowball

changed motor today! sprayed wd40 into bootcatch electrical conector and hey presto all back to perfect over the moon! well apart from the £83 the motor cost me! hope it lasts another 6 years! fingers crossed!

Where did you get your motor from, mine needs replacing and my stealer has quoted me £100 + VAT??? any idea of a part number as all I gave them was a reg...

unfortunatley i have a very good friend who owens an independant vw/audi specalist garage and he didnt charge me the v.a.t. but he only charges £83 + vat for the genuine valeo unit as fitted as standard to audi! my car is a 2004 so i dont know if this part no. will fit your 52! part no.8e9 955 711e the part i took off was the same no. apart from the last letter was a,b no an ,e. this part may have been modified but it looks exactly the same! most vw audi specialists use genuine vag parts at much lower prices try one in your area! be much cheeper than audi!
