    4 wheel alignment on A3 2.0 TDI

    Hi All,

Need to get 4 wheel alignment done, car is 2.0 TDI on Weitec coilovers with Eibach ARB's. Handles quite nicely but would like that little bit more, if possible, so what should I be going for with the alignment? What camber etc on a 2.0 TDI?

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi scott,

sorry not much help. But when you go to the place to get it aligned, wouldn't they be able to offer the best advice as the car would be psychically there???

sorry if im off topic just an opinion

Audi A3 2.0 tdi sport..many mods to follow...just too fussy when it comes to making decisions!

They'd set it up to what Audi recommends which isn't necessarily the best for handling. Thanks.

have a look at fitting the tt swing arms as these are slightly adjustable and much lighter, obviously the wheels have to be laser aligned to get the best accuracy, camber wise, you really dont need to do much, 0.5-2 degree is all you will need, if you go to much you will start to wear out your tires!

front only has adjustable toe as standard - camber is fixed depending on ride height - the s-line/s3 is about 0.5mm negative camber which isnt enough particularly if you are fwd

rear has adjustable toe and camber - factory setting is -1deg 20 minutes (-1.33)

you cant improve things over standard without uprating some hardware - replacing the bottom suspension arms with the tt ones gives you about -1.5 to -1.8 deg front negative camber at minimum settings with another deg available from the adjustment.

add some uprated anti-roll bars particularly a fat rear bar of 25-27mm and you will seriously improve the handling, grip and understeer tendency without compromising comfort

on the biessbarth 4 wheel aligner at vw it has a sport setting for lowered cars (non standard)

its just not cheap at over 100 for a wheel alignment
