just had the car at the garage the night and been told it needs a rear spring,
was thinking of getting the car lowered so looks like nows the time

question - i have a 2006 sportback s-line quattro with 18''s and have seen springs on ebay like the eibach pros with a 30mm drop are these ok or what other ones can/should i go for only looking to spend about £200

I would go for the eibach sportline 50/40 OR 50mm H+R's. Both provide a nice drop. Google for some pictures

im confused cos i see that the eibachs are 30 mm but im sure i have the sportline springs which is a 20 mm loewer than standard so what that then mean i am 50mm lower than standard or are you saying that you actually get a 50mm kit which would then mean that i am 70mm lower than stock?? how does it work do i just look for kits that drop 25-30

I have the eibach - 30mm kit it's great the car is ethical and usable I personally feel you go - 50mm it's gonna cause rubbing/Going up kerbs to park etc a problem.... Having drove past cars with this the 30mm is a good all rounder!

Go to DPM for your setup, with great advice & knowledge, you cant really go wrong.

Just thinking when I ordered the eibach pro kit with 30mm drop the seller asked me what model I had I responded with 2006 3.2 v6 Quattro but forgot to add s-line will this matter

But surely 30mm lowering springs will only drop an S Line by about 5 mm? You will barely see any difference, don't see the point myself.

That's why I'm asking... If the springs are a 30mm drop of s line thars about 50mm lower than standard however if the 30mm drop is meaning 30mm lower than standard then yeah will only be about a 5-10mm drop overall,??

Ok just realised there's a sportline kit that I should have ordered..... Does anyone know if the sportline kit is compatible with 3.2 as not seeing it is compatible cars only up to 2.0??

fao ironborn just incase your thinking told ya so haha

i have just come on my computer and read your posts for some reason i missed or read your post wrong on my phone i was thinking the 50mm drop was on top of the s-line springs meaning a slammed 80mm but i get it all now

now im on the comp ive read your post and checked the link and you are spot on i should have went sportline thanks for your input just a ****** i ordered them before reading your responses
lesson learned

I've looked at h and r for the mk5 golf as the a3 has the same platform and they only do springs with a 20-25 mm drop for the r32 I've read the eibach springs they don't do a sportline kit as the weight of the car e.g load on axles is to heavy so think as I'm heavier than the s3 I'm stuck with the pro kit

Can anyone assist then with What springs I can get for my 3.2 sportback it's a crazy world out there I'm so lost I'm looking fir the car to sit lower that what it is ??

Yes that's why I suggested the H&R...?

I would always recommend H&R's as a preference over Eibach, not that there is anything wrong with the Eibach's as my friend has them on his 3.2 sport, but I just think they are a more developed spring. I took a photo of the H&R's and Eibach's together when we put them on and you can see that the H&R's have a progressive spring

H&R's on the right

Here's a pic of my S-line sportback with the H&R's fitted

I bought the Eibach Pro kit from DPM, very quick delivery. Just need to get them fitted now.

I love the drop on 3.2jus that's what I'd be looking for I'm just going to keep the eibach pro kit see how It looks but will upgrade next year to coilovers only got them as current spring broken, one last question tho is there just one eibach pro kit for the sportback or is there different ones for a3 sport and a3 s line ?
