A/C Compressor - Connection Broken

Hello all,

Been on this forum since I purchased an A3 a year ago. Not need to post till now. Information on here has been very useful.

Currently got an issue with the A/C Compressor having the connector broken off.
I know this is a long shot but trying to search for the part below.
Don't mind getting a compressor from eBay but trying to save having to degas, vacuum and re-gas the system. Plus it had a new clutch fitted.

perhaps open up connector, expose and crimp wires, then mate with the wiring loom.

Do you mean the control valve connector has broken off or the clutch connector is broken

Its the Control Valve Connector which has broken off.

Well I would just do as mrlapou said I take it clutch is engaging and your system is fully charged an easy way to tell if its fully charged is to run your fans full blast and look for sweating/condensation on your suction line.
the compressor you have is variable displacement it loads and unloads according to heat load via the control valve.

Not got a clue if the clutch is engaging. Its never worked since I had the car. System is fully charged. Clutch replaced as it was faulty.
Taken look and the connection is completely sheered off back to the housing. So trying to get the connector to be exposed is going be tricky. From what I now understand to replace the Control Value the system needs to be degassed.
So think I'm going to get a second hand compressor off eBay to save anymore hassle.

If your clutch is engaging you will see a slight dip in engine rpm and hear the click some clutches you can see the centre spinning when engaged maybe you should have your car scanned for faults as it will show if the clutch is being held off by hp or lp safety's .
you will have to have the system reclaimed to change the compressor or the valve .
