The 17 OEM ones are 7 1/2 wide, PCD 112 and offset ET54. After market ones are usually ET45 and 8 wide. I think ET35 are also OK, but depends on the wheel width.

From what I have read if you are going for an 18" rim that is 8" wide then a 35mm offset should be ok.

would these fit ?

5x112 stud pattern with 225/40 R18 avon tyres offset ET35

Link? As MB said, if they are up to 8" wide, then ET35 should be fine. Let me guess, they're not the Oettinger ones on Ebay, are they?
