Hi guys, ive just had a new turbo fitted to my a3 2.0 tdi and wondered can i fit a de-cat downpipe to my car without upgrading the ecu? I wonder will it do any harm fitting a downpipe? Also will i get any power gains?

Cheers

Chris

Yes you can put a decat pipe in, you will get slightly better response/pick up and you will hear the turbo more.

you wont get any more power without remap - diesels have a lot more air than needed to burn the fuel - power is limited by the fuel being injected, adding more air doesnt help unless you increase the fuelling - decatting the downpipe will improve turbo spool-up and throttle response for almost no cost
