Model designation - A3 Quattro

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the model designation (eg 8D2 0LK - the bit below the chassis number on a data sticker) should be for a 2001 Audi A3 1.8T Quattro Sport 6spd 3dr??

Need this info but can't seem to find it anywhere!

There are about 10 different codes it could be. Could you let me know the engine code or even the gearbox code.

This would help me narrow it down for you.

Ok sure - cheers - I know it's an ARY engine code and the chassis no starts WAUZZZ8L1A......

No idea about engine code except that it's a 6spd manual box.

Okay that narrows it down a bit. Without the gearbox codes, I can't be any more specific than the shortlist below.

8L1A99
8L1B99
8L1C99

Going by the chassis number it will be 8L1A99

Ok, cheers I'll try that and see what happens.

I'll have a dig around under the bonnet and see if I can locate any more things like gearbox codes - there seems to be any number of plaques with alphanumeric sequences on them down there!

It doesn't matter what the gearbox code is because it can still be any of the three numers above from HTCs post, inputting evotistas numbers into Elsa still gives you the three choices of A99, B99 or C99 the only thing you have to go on is the last part of your chassis number i.e. 8L1 A

Andy bs3 is right. I hadn't moticed that before. So I would say yours is the 8L1A99 as previously mentioned.
