Hello all.
I have a 2000 APY engined S3. Can anyone please tell me what type is the turbo (i.e. K03/K03s...)

K03 are the 150bhp models

K03S are the 180bhp models (quattro sport etc)

K04 is 210/225bhp models (S3, TT, Cupra R etc)

Not entirely true matey..... it's more an age with the ko3/ko3s difference.

Most stuff up to mid/late 2000 is ko3, including early 180bhp quattros.

all 2001 onwards A3's, be they FWD or 4wd, 150 or 180bhp are ko3S

do they go on engine codes??? As someone told me the the AUM engine (in mine) has a ko3s turbo, but because its a late 2000 car i think its a ko3???

so confused :S

If unsure and can't find out, whip the TIP off and count the turbine blades. 8 = K03-051/052/053/058 (K03S) or 12 = K03-011 or equivelent (normal K03).

i think after i re-map it & get a rolling road printout, if it shows 200+ bhp ill know for sure its a ko3s as the normal ko3 cant kick out more than 200bhp, so im told, correct me if im wrong

if it's an AUM matey then it'll be a ko3s. the AGU and ARZ had the ko3, the AUM's came in late 2000
