My mate just fitted a 8000 k kit to his Astra Coupe must say it looks the dogs ********!

He paid £90 off ebay i think 3 year warranty cant go wrong surely!

Just wondered which kits you guys used on your A3's and where do you mount your ballasts...?

I've got an X5 kit, which is 6000K and I wouldn't want the bulbs any 'bluer'. It's not the cheapest kit around (about £250 now I think) but it's very good quality. It passed its MOT with them fitted as well, so that's good!

The OS ballast I stuck to the inner wing, and the NS ballast nestles between the side of the battery and the battery cover.

If I was buying again, I'd go for a kit with 4300k bulbs, the same as OEM, and that's what I'm going to replace mine with when they go pop.

I fitted a "genuine" kit off Ebay.
One balast ont he back of the lock panel O/S, other on the inner wing N/S.
Had them 12 months without any problems.

OEM ballasts are mounted on the crash bars behind front bumper as far as i know..

The OEM ballasts were mounted in small cages underneath the headlamps on my S3.
