Alloys low down

Hi everyone.

New Audi A3 owner got a 1.8 2001 sport. I was after some info on what size alloys I could put on. I'm a novice in the world of cars, so any help would be great. I've been looking on ebay and found some with a 205/55 ZR16 91W size.
But would prefer 17"

you really want some 17s mate. 16s are far too small.

Some S3 wheels or TT wheels (cheaper) would be perfect.

Yes they do. Exactly what I did, you can find cheap sets on TT Forums, ebay, loot and Piston Heads. Like Pablo says don't bother with 16s you will only regret it and 17s aren't expensive.

It's all about rolling radius, you use bigger wheels and lower profile tyres so the car stays the same height. Of course you could then lower it but that's a whole other issue!

Sorry about this but I know very little about cars. Could some one give me an Idea what size I am looking for. I've seen some for sale and don't want to buy the wrong ones.

You want at least 17s but if you can get 18s then do, they need to be ET35 and and the stud pattern needs to be 5x100.

He also has some which are 205/55r16 913

Woah big text!

I've got an old set of 17" S3 Avus alloys if he fancies them for a few hundred quid. Tyres are good (3 Pirrelli P6000's & One Goodyear something or other) and there's 2 slight kerb marks but good condition in general. Will send pics (& check out the other tyre type) if necessary otherwise I can't be *****.

225/40 for 18"
