how does the grille clip in?

whilst waiting for the engine to cool down to do a coolant temp sensor swap, i tried pulling out the grille to replace my audi badge on the front, pulled at it a little, bottom came out but top seems stuck.

so i tried to push the bottom back in and leave it for another time when i have more time to play around with it, when pushing the bottom flexes, but it wont actually clip onto anything.

what do i do?

i dont have to remove the entire bumper for this do i?

I got my grille out without removing the bumper - but it messed up a few clips and was a bit brutal.

i managed to change my grill with out takin the bumer off but it was quite a brutal procedure, am surprised it didnt acutally break!

took it to a mate to see if he could work his magic and get the grille back on, no dice. looks to be a bumper off job after all, grr!

it fits/stays on, but dont feel too safe in that someone could come along and yoink the thing off without too much trouble. its worth the hassle to get chrome audi rings back on there though!

It no hassle to take the bumper off mate , when you do it you will realise how easy it is.
