as the title says, was getting slower and slower, would seem to get back to normal speed if i left it on, now its stopped, feck knows what it can be, help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Seconded. It's so easy, even I managed to do it. Looks much nicer and with a bit of rain-x you wont' miss it.

It'll be seizing up, try a whole load of WD40 on the spindle, if it's as bad as some then you'll need to take it apart or replace it. I had to get a blow torch on mine just to free it up enough to allow it to slide out, totally corroded.
