Hi hopefully someone will be able to help,my son has just wrapped his car round a tree,luckily only superficial damage.Car is audi a3 1.6se 2002 5 door.What i want to know is,is the 3 door tailgate same as 5 door tailgate.And also which model years and models would i be able to get tailgate from that will fit his car.As so many different models to luck at.Thank you.

99.9% sure 3 and 5 door tailgate's are the same mate

Yes so am i, from 1998 ish untill 2003 ish ...glad your lad is alright BTW....

yes thanks guys he is allright,might teach him a lesson 18 year old written 2 cars off already.Thats why im getting parts and repairing myself,hopefully,otherwise his insurance would be nearer 3K.Told him anymore crashes and he`s on his own no more help from muggins here.

a3 1.6se 2002 5 door wrapped round a tree? didnt no a 1.6 would go fast enough to hit trees.....
