Managed to fit my 3" tip and filter yesterday, initial thoughts from driving is that the initial pick up is insane, definately pushes alot harder from low down, also a friend thinks it feels alot smoother throughout the rev range and I think I concur. Havent had chance to do any logs, and can't be arsed tbh as the car feels funner so I'll take that as a result. Also the noise is awesome.

Anyone thinking of buying one do it, you wont be dissatisfied. Also really easy to fit, only took me just under an hour

Just fitted mine, my n75 was a pig to refit (j valve) and seems a little stretched, took me about an hour too, and initial results seems good i took logs before so will log with it fitted when i can be bothered.
certainly feels more free flowing, but cant wait to get some serious revs into it, cant say ive noticed a difference in noise, but like said i have not pushed it yet...
Yes and thanks bill for the evolution...

yea mine was streched intially on the wires, but i shortened the connector a bit and tilted it all towards the rad a bit and there is some slack now.

im more interested in drive characteristics than just the numbers, if its going to change it quite a bit, holding boost better and delivering more torque throughout the rev range with increased top end ooomf, its dam good value for money.

Love reading about all this - still can't believe the gains! So blinking annoyed I need a service and Tires else I'd be getting myself one of these TIP's...

Out if interest Bill the open cone filter you recommend over the standard airbox when fitting the TIP - does this not suffer in the summer with it not being enclosed and the higher under the bonnet temperature? Or is it not really an issue.... <please don't think im trying to open a can of worms here I'm not just curious if you've done any logs with hotter temps if it can be done)

Speaking form experience, and having monitored inlet temps very closely since fitting the Jetex many months ago - the difference is marginal. It won't make a dot of difference.

Ye, I would say the same, difference not that much. Although when your stationary, the inlet temps rise very quickly but once moving they settle back down to an ok temp.

I havent got a FMIC yet but if I can remember when the outside temp was around 20 degrees, the inlet temps would be around high 30s - 40. In the winter was seeing about 5 degree above outside temps which I though was good for SMIC's

hot air is worse than colder dense air for sure.. cold air feed all good to have...
will you notice it over a decent fmic setup tho? unlikely.
gains outweigh losses, but add a heatshield and you have best of both worlds. uber high flow airfilter and decent cold air feed and heatshield.. oh, and the high flow tip for good measure

would the air not be getting hot as it has to pass through the turbocharger anyway before being cooled by the fmic? so only really from standing traffic you'd see higher intake temps, id have thought it be more important to get it breathing properly on turbo cars more then to cool the air going in

temps of turbo outlet >150'C would not be unusual as a handy reference on whats being cooled
