Hiya when Iam out driving sometimes between gear changes the engine will over rev is this normal or is somthing wrong please help thanks

My s3 also revs slightly between gear changes. Gets on my tits!

Not changed one personally but i wouldn't say it was that difficult once the lower dash trim is off. As for price i'd say it could be near the same price as the brake switch, around £5
yeah I would start with the clutch switch as its the cheapest option
they are a plunger type switch
there pretty easy to change.
get on the floor under the steering wheel
you will see the clutch switch at the top of the clutch pedal
to remove it unplug the cable
then turn the main body of the switch and it will come out
reverse to fit the new one
mine was nackered and didn't go smoothly in and out
