It does as it goes, misery loves company. No, Im joking that is lousy, it wouldn't be so bad if Audi made the effort to keep you updated. The whole process has a general arrogance, we're going to charge you a shed load for a car and not be remotely bothered when you may finally get it.

You can't say 4rse its not PC.

i have logged into my audi and have a build date of sept 11, which is a bit earlier than i expected, so am happy for now.
However, the build description states "black edition" ? i did not order a black edition and the spec looks correct.
Is this an error on the audi site.
Also, roughly how long is it between build date and deliver? is 5 weeks about right?

I got my gap insurance from ALA. It was £299 for three years up to £25,000. But I found a discount code for 10% off so I actually got it for £269. They're 5* defacto rated and that's for a replacement vehicle. I only bought mine last night so should be able to get the code still.

There's been a few similar posts in this thread about 'black edition' appearing in descriptions when it shouldn't. If the correct options are listed I wouldn't worry.
Build dates can move around. Mine moved 3 times before it finally happened, that said the closer you get to the scheduled build date the less chance it will move (Audi give their suppliers around 4 weeks notice to ensure that the right bits are in the right place when your car hits production) Your car starts assembly the week before your prescribed build week. It's normally in QC at the start of your advertised build week.

Build is the easy bit, getting through the German port to the UK is unknown, some cars have got through Emden in a matter of days and some cars have sat on the Emden dock for up to a month. Mines been waiting at Emden for 10 days now (Status 38)
 
Having been sat here dormant for a few weeks waiting for my car the frustration/anticipation is now starting to show. Looks like 3.5 weeks since my car reached the port (not sure what date it went to status 38). I assume as my dealer is in Harrogate that my destination would be Grimsby?

Yeah, been like that at least since the BE came out last year after mine was ordered in Sept and "morphed" back and forth a few times before it was delivered in November. It arrived as order which is the main thing :salute:

3.5 weeks is rubbish, makes me wonder when ill get to see mine. Ive had 38 for 11 days so far. There's a few others on 38 too. My car is going to Audi Bolton so mine should come in through Grimsby too. Theres a couple of boats that go backwards and forwards to Grimsby from Emden 24 x 7. Must be the volume of cars waiting to be shipped this time of year causing the delay.

Mines going on a personal plate so ill get when its available.

Once the car lands in the UK its down to your stealer to raise a transport order with the logistic company who trucks the car to its final destination.

Wish me luck finding my dealer to be a bit poor on the communication

Spoke my dealer today and they've estimated collection for next week however they still don't know that the car is in the UK which is strange, will chase them tomorrow when I assume youraudi tracker will go to status 40.

Just spoke to mine, the person I've been dealing with is on training course and then on holiday till the 21st. This maybe a blessing in disguise as the original lady wasn't the most dynamic. I'm waiting on a call back from someone else but expect I'll get similar news. Mine still shows on 39, perhaps they haven't scanned the cars in yet
 
Hey guys, I'm on status 38 and have been since last Wednesday. I am collecting from Coventry Audi, does anyone know whether its more likely to arrive in Grimsby or Sheerness??

I would've thought it would be Grimsby as that is closer to Coventry but best to check with dealership I think. My port was on my original order form.

Im scheduled to get Status 40 at 9.22 later this morning...... wtf?

Phoned Bolton Audi 3 times now and nobody can be bothered to call me back. I expected better.

I'm now status 40 I don't see why you would need to wait until 9.22, the tracker updates around 1am. I would phone customer services or speak to someone on live chat as they can raise a formal complaint against the dealership. I did this when I first ordered my car and that seemed to help the communication, but in general I've also been very disappointed with my dealership. They are great at communicating when they are selling to you but as soon as you handover the money they go very quiet.

Finally managed to speak to someone at the dealer. They are emailing the finance papers over this morning. No idea when the car will reach the dealer. I'm annoyed, just found out I need to nominate VWFS on my personal plate certificate, this could have been done weeks ago if they'd bothered to return my calls. It has to back through the DVLA system now. I just hope that doesn't delay the registration.
 
Finally my order has gone live and I'm able to track it.

It says the order date was the 11th July, yet I did the deal with Audi on 30th July and the order was placed on the 31st July. Build date says 21st August which seems super quick compared to a lot of other builds on here.

Have I been assigned a cancelled vehicle or something perhaps? Or is this likely to change?

I ordered beer the end of July but says my order was placed 22nd June. Build date also 21st august!

i would think you've both been allocated a dealer build if order dates pre-date when you actually ordered as mine are bang on

I've just received my registration number and I'm going in tomorrow to finalise finance and paperwork so hopefully not too far off now.
 
Good news, Ive been in to the dealer today and signed the papers. Dont have a collection date yet but late next week is reasonable, that works well as my golf goes back next Wednesday
 
Status 70!

4 days from port to dealer, way quicker than I expected. Going to delay collection till this time next week after my golf has been collected. Need to wait for my retention certificate to be re issued, hopefully i'll have it back by then
 
I got status 60 today so now it's in the hands of the dealer and the transport company.

Exciting times! Your dealer is wrong to give you a timescale as he has no control over it. The big variable is the shipping. It can fly onto a ship and get to the dealer or it can sit at Emden for 2, 3 or even 4 weeks worst case. you can then get into ship tracking and some detective work lol. Don't mean to dampen your excitement but dealers should make you aware of the variables. Look forward to the pics when you get it mate. :hi:
