Status 40 on 12th
Spoke to dealer and they advised approx 10 working days for delivery to them.
Transport order raised on 13th.
Not sure why the dealer can not give more accurate date..
Anyone else faced that??

Yes because they are all lazy ******* is my personal opinion.

The correct reason is because they are not responsible for the delivery. There is some debate whether Audi or the dealer raise the transport order however once raised the timeline is 7 days at most typically from port to dealer.

The transport company arranges the logistics of it depending on where the dealer is and other cars needing to be delivered to them or other dealers.

In my case my car went status 40 on a Monday and was delivered to the dealer on Thursday. My dealer was an hour away from sheerness so the car went from 40 to 70 overnight - it was collected and delivered that Thursday. So it depends on where the dealer is. The dealer will typically hear from the transport company when they are due a delivery but my experience of this is they can’t be bothered to chase it up or they will come up with some excuse. And then the car will just be delivered and they will tell you and be all surprised.

Mine showed as status 40 on Friday morning (00:00) and haven't heard from the dealer since. I will phone him first thing Monday morning to ask about timeframes.

Last time I spoke to him he told me he had some cars arrive in the UK on the Thursday and he had them in his compound on Monday so hopefully could be a matter of a few days.

So my car is currently on the Makassar Highway bound for Sheerness 8 days after leaving the factory! I can't grumble at that!

I'm going away on the 29th for a few days and would like to pick it up before then if it's possible... anyone have any suggestions/ experience with what I should do at this stage to rush things along?

I'm excited now btw if you hadn't noticed!

Mark, push your dealer to raise the transport order. It then falls to the logistics company to get your car from the port to the dealer. It would be a good idea to ask about sorting the finance paperwork, the last thing you need is the car held at the dealer waiting for the paperwork.

Garvie, its down to your location, VW ship into Port of Tyne, Grimsby and Shearness. The car will go to your nearest port to minimise the road transport.

Called CS today and mine has been "randomly" selected for more QC checks! Can take up to 3 weeks and then another 2 from when they pass to be put on a ship. Very annoying! Car has been sitting since 21/6 at Emden Port.

I had a similar scenario - additional checks (at the port). The collection date from the dealer ended up being 2 weeks after the original estimate provided upon ordering.

Sit tight, try and be patient, all is fine...it is worth the wait

I share the same views...
Anyway I am dealing with Crawley audi, so just over an hour from sheerness...
After a bit of of tracking questions and who raises the order + when will the car be registered- dealer gave me the car reg documents to confirm details on 13th itself.
There is good information in this forum that clearly helped in all those discussions..
He mentioned- no point calling Monday as well because they are not expecting any deliveries on Sat(yesterday) +Monday.
It will be really good if I somehow get the delivery in this week...

You'll be looking for the Weser Highway. It's currently en route back to Emden. Then back to Grimsby. It's due in Germany at 4 tomorrow morning.

Yeah I had a rule, any date after Aug 15, I'd wait. Anything before it would be painful, so as I've just got status 40 I'm hoping (long shot) to pick up this weekend. I'll chase dealer today to get paperwork done and raise a transportation order for it.

Dealer called today to say they have the car, that's 4 weeks from the official star of BW 25. I'm now 380 miles from the dealer, but quite impressed that they will be transporting it to me at no cost on Thursday - excited!

Something I spotted about build times, order codes & build weeks - lots of people have posted their codes & the build schedule here -

Say you've been given build week X by the system. Starting on a Monday.
Everyone's build history that I've seen on here has started on the Thurs before the given Monday of week X.

I mean, the pattern appears to be :

Some time e.g. 10 days before week X : code 20 : "Preparation"
Thurs before week X : code 21 : "Panel shop"
Fri : code 22 : "Paint shop"
Sat : code 23 : "Assembly"
Sun : factory closed
The Monday of the given build week X : code 24 : "QA"

I read this to mean that the codes 21, 22, 23, 24 are just auto-generated chaff - the "QA" stage appears to be the date when they actually start making the car (which is why it can take up to a week to get past that stage... the actual QA stage is probably just a few hours).

Ha, well that rather takes the sheen off it! Should've known!

Maybe it has been built a week early, the tracker is notoriously unreliable. Wait till you get the next status when the car reaches Emden then contact audi customer services see what they can confirm for you.

I still see Status 10.

Options are a very personal thing, only you can justify the expense. I ticked the tech pack, I'm using nav more and more these days so I like the facility to get it on the central display. Manual for me to, I just prefer it plus there has to be a point when you have to say enough is enough.

You should now be able to see your VIN number of the JSON screen. I've read a few posts where you can download the car's instruction manual, not sure where from though.

yes I've got the VIN alright - can't yet get anything out of myaudi.com about it, I guess they haven't flushed through all the databases yet, probably that only happens overnight or something.

Mine is waiting at dealers as of this Monday just gone, I'm picking it up on August 31st driving to my house on delivery plates so I got a 67 plate s3 on my drive first thing the morning of September 1st

wait a sec, no, it does tell me the actual as-built spec; in a roundabout way, under the "Product Rating" section.

In here, is a 5-star rating quiz per-built-component; from which I can tell what the per-built-components actually are ...

There is an actual part of the site which shows all the specs and what you ordered. You don’t seem to be very tech saavy - all analogue lol I am guessing your above 40... (not that I mind I just find your posts amusing as I am imaging my dad saying similar things).

On seeing your pictures, for a few seconds I questioned my choice of Nano Grey, But now I'm still convinced, I like the almost matt appearance of Nano. Thoughts of that nature are academic anyway as I'm hoping (expecting!) to get status 21 any day now.

Mine is sat at the port in grimbsy at the moment, arrived last night ! I'm not picking up for weeks yet but still nice to no it's in the uk !

The "Vehicle Details" section doesn't have (yet) what I actually spec'd. Only the generic configuration of that model, e.g. engine performance. Maybe it'll update a bit later on, since it does already know the VIN, but that itself only happened one day after the VIN itself appeared after the code 30 status.
