yourAudi - Track New Car Order

When the sales guy sent me a screenshot it said Tyne and I live down south.

How would I know which port mine is going to?

Sheerness down South.
Grimsby for Midlands.
Tyne up North.

Nearest to your dealer more than likely.

Hmmm my dealer is in Hitching so Sheerness is an hour closer than Grimsby which in the grand scheme of things isn't a lot!

Looking them up on google maps, it's crazy how many cars are parked up at each port!

Danube Highway due at Sheerness tomorrow mid morning

Good shout, absolutely amazing... First time I've ever looked at the satellite imagery - unbelievable the size of the car storage. No wonder it takes so long to get them on transporters!

I've just looked at my port (Sheerness) on Google Maps. It's ridiculous how many vehicles are parked at the port!

If you mean Hitchin then it will probably be Grimsby. Sheerness tends to have the cars for South of London and the West Country where as Grimsby has North of London and the Midlands. Remember any Google Satellite images could be a number of years out of date as can Street View.

depends on where you live/where your dealer is

For logistical and volume reasons we use three UK ports - Tyne in the north, Sheerness in the south and Grimsby in the middle

I did yes, think the phone must have decided to change it for me, it's good like that sometimes.

Grimsby is good to know, I've seen people say that tends to get ships in more frequently.

My Audi S3 had a build Week 9 and just been informed that its left the factory and going to Port Emden, Quite a quick turn around for mine

Weser Highway is currently sat at Emden waiting to head to Grimsby. Hopefully mines allocated to that ;)

I should be on that then all being well.

Just 1 day behind those of us with BW10! Did you say previously you'd been told you'd have it before April?
That's amazing! I was told I'd have pre-April delivery so maybe it could happen if things start moving this week :)

We're both bw10 as well as @Steelster I believe so here's hoping tomorrow we move again.

@GTAIVgunner - your build is probably ahead of schedule, prep seems to be the week before car is built.
That's so good to hear! When you say built, do you mean it'll be assembled on Monday?

Yes afaik we are due to commence build 6th March for BW10. If not, it will definitely be that week commencing.

Funnily enough, I ordered mine at Hitchin as well... let's hope the Weser Highway theory is correct!

Any of you guys going to push your dealer for a March delivery, based on what should happen for @GTAIVgunner?

Mines a company car so not affected by the new tax rules so will probably just wait (as patiently as I can)

I'm dropping extremely subtle hints about that in emails :whip: In all seriousness though I know at this point there is very little, if anything, the dealer can do to speed things up now. I think the best I can hope for is they go to register the car ASAP once it arrives at the dealership. I knew when I ordered it would be pushing it to get here before April so I guess I have to accept it if that happens.
