So i seen a lot of chats recording pressure washers looks to me like you need a lot of money to buy a half decent one as the cheap Karcher ones don't seem to last from what people are saying so my question is has anyone tried the worx cordless hydroshot.
I would like to spend less that £200

Hi. Can't help with the Worx query, apologies. Had a Karcher K3 with induction motor for over 10 years. It died and now have a K5 I bought from Wickes in the sale. I've bought the more expensive ones in the hope they last. K5 cost £170. Maybe have a look at the Karcher Outlet shop online?

Cheers to be honest im confuesd as the karcher is the most probley the most advertised brand but just keep hearing they dont last long my boss has one not sure which modle but he says its hit and miss with it working so bit put off and the cheap k2 model seems like a waste of money.

I have one from the Nilfisk range and it’s been going strong for years now even when sitting out in the shed when not being used it still fires up when needed . Worth looking at this brand in my novice opinion

    Nilfisk for the win.

Hydro shot is only good if you’re taking your car to a show and want to give it a quick wash when you get there.

You're not wrong K2 is a waste of money. Need to move up the range IMHO. Nilfisk is a good shout too. I stuck with Karcher as I have a load of accessories that I wanted to reuse.

agree, stay away from K2, but the same can probably be said for most "entry" level pw's, that are only meant to be used for the odd spray down of a bike etc in my opinion. Nilfisk - Never used, but do appear popular too. I have had a K5 Premium for 4+ years, and have used A LOT without any issues (apart from changing to a soft rubber hose that doesn't get all twisted up)

Somebody at work gave me a Vax one when my 3rd Karcher’s switch stopped working. I probably wouldn’t have bought one of these but it’s brilliant.

I'll be getting a Nilfisk, they're very well received, saw one on amazon for just £60 on amazon reduced from £120, missed the opportunity but I'm sure it'll be back on sale soon.

They do, here is my back garden. I have a 2 year old female cocker spaniel (females apparently cause more lawn damage than males):

This was on sale today so I thought I'd give it a go and snapped it up, Nilfisk seems to have way better rep than Karcher pressure washers so I thought it would be alright as my first pressure washer. Obviously I had to buy some snow foam so I went with 10L of Pro-Kleen to get myself started. I'm just getting into all this detailing lark and I've already spent too much on detailing products!

fair enough, good saving there. As some have said the smaller air cooled can be fine. My K2 died as has with others, so hopefully you have better luck with this Nilfisk. The water cooled versions do run a lot cooler, but if you are just using for car you will be fine.

Yep, don't start adding up what you spend, as it can be scary

They will save you money long term as they are more controllable ie they'll foam up far better, thus the snow foam will cling to your for longer=more cleaning time on the paint

I am on my 2nd K4 first one was fooked after just 4 weeks
These refurb ones for sale have been returned for the same reason mine's was, the fitment on the hose to the gun was originally made of plastic and wears/ breaks quickly, the new ones have a cast aluminium fitment now, so no doubt refurbished ones now have this aluminium fitment

You do not need a powerful one just for the car but I am happy with Nilfisk 130 I went for which also does a good job on patio and brickwork as well. I would advise to try and get one with a longer hose, 9m or so - so much easier...

Have we come to any conclusion on a good all round powerful pressure washer then?

I’m onto my second power washer in a week & about to return that one. First purchase was a nilfisk 120, it was absolutely rubbish. Wouldn’t even remove bird muck from the car never mind be able to clean my drive. After returning that a friend of mine had a couple Petrol ones for sale. He owns a truck stop so gets some good deals off the lorry drivers, ended up paying £100 for a 3000psi one. Anyway, I’ve set that one up today & that is also absolutely ****. Most be an issue with it as it’s certainly not 3000 psi, I’d probably say the nilfisk was more powerful!! Even if it had been powerful I wouldn’t of kept it anyway, it’s ridiculously loud..

I’ve got a Reno electric one that I use for work, it’s a brilliant all round cleaner. Mega powerful when needed but from a distance it’s perfect for your car. Shame that it’s a big heavy unit & kept down my lock up or I would use it for general cleaning as well.
