Wiper question

If my wipers are on and I turn the car off, the wipers don't come back on until they're put back to off on the stalk and then turned on again, if that makes sense?

Is this a fault or a feature, and if the latter, how do I change it so that they resume from where they were set?

They have a mind of their own as long as positioning is concerned .
As long as they work properly , it's all that matters

I think you have to be moving above 5mph for them to kick in.

Are they set on Auto ?
