I have had a new Audi supplied windscreen fitted due to a crack. The sensor doesn’t look right somehow. It is a 2017 facelift s3 saloon without lane assist or sign recognition or any other fancy electronics assist.

I have compared to a friends RS3 and his has a small hole above the larger hole. I also think my sensor looks too transparent somehow, or not tinted. Not sure what but it’s different somehow.

Can anyone share photos on theirs or know what’s going on?

Thanks that would make sense. Would that cause issues ?

Yes. The pad bridges any gaps between the sensor and the glass. Without this the sensor will not be able to correctly function.

Balls.

They are coming out to view and to replace the A Pillar trim they damaged during installation :(

I think he must have just thrown the pad away when installing.
