Didn't know if anyone could help - I'm insured with AF and my windscreen is not in the best condition, when the sun shines on it I get a horrible glare and reduced visibility due to the stone chips/scratches, which in the mornings going to work is pretty dangerous with the low sun I can hardly see through it!

If I claim on my insurance will I loose my NCB?
Also if I am successful with my claim, will I get a new genuine windscreen or will it be a cheap replica?

Thanks. Sam

Your best bet is to ring them and ask mate. I was previously insured with AXA and I had a windscreen replacement (£75) - it didn’t affect my NCB and Autoglass came out and fitted a genuine one. They did a decent job considering I have auto lights (the sensor behind the rear view mirror).

Just be aware in the future some insurers may want to know about it and will put it down as a windscreen claim (although this shouldn’t affect your premium).

Did you go through AF in the end? I'm in the same position at the moment with my s4, I want to go through the insurance but I'm concerned. I don't want a bad quality windscreen fitted or a poor job done. Last windscreen I had replaced they cut off the VIN number on the dash.
