Hi everybody. Really need someone to help me out with my audi a4 2005. Yesterday my wipers wouldnt stop then today they wouldn't work bar moving a wee bit when I turned the car on. I was thinking maybe it was a relay problem as a few days ago a wee bit of water came out from the footwell.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I have searched the Internet and the forum but no answer yet.
Thanks

Your plenum chamber will be full of water if you have water coming into your interior, there are drain holes that blocked up, if you u tube it it's a common problem

Thanks for that. Would this in turn have damaged something to do with the wipers then?

I would imagine that a control unit could have water ingress in it Stephen

Find a garage that specialises with audis and let them look at it for you, vcds diagnostics or vag com as it used to be called will be needed as it's probably the ccm ( central control module ) which has water in. Keep me updated on how you get on
Reqards Pete.

Bit of a update. Tryed plugging in the car put the obd isn't allowing a connection as it must have a bit of water damage. So think I'll need a new one of them. Also the linkage moves freely when I move it etc so maybe thinking either motor or electrical

You tried spraying the connection with ct85

Drives out moisture ..starts damp engines...does allot of stuff pal

Would that work ya think? See a few bits of the connection are touquise in colour so not sure if there are to damaged. But I'll give that a go to see. The ccm seems dry as do all the other parts bar that. I also noticed a blue wire not connected to anything. I'll get a few pics here sure

That's not standard wiring, possibly been for a hands free !!!

Not unless the previous owners didn't know the car had Bluetooth built into it.

Your data link connector will give you connection issues though, contact cleaner might get it to read for issues

Aye mate, clean the contacts, see if it will communicate and if not you will have to check for lives, earth's etc on plug

So weird thing happened today. Started the car and the wipers done there usual thing of not moving then down the road I changed the setting to the lowest and they started to move as normal. The won't move on the other settings tho. So what does that mean

Sounds like a faulty wiper stalk to me....unless Audi do it differently to other manufacturers.

There's a relay goes down on vauxhalls and it only works on full speed, but could still be a number of things on yours

Hard to know lad. Very strange like but happy it's working for now cause it's lashing down. I'll still search for the cause tho, also don't think it's parking in the right position.

That's a picture of the wiring diagram from vivid workshop information

Water still getting in from under the ecu box I think. Also my washers have stopped working. This problem is doing my head in.

Checked fuses for the wipers?

With the water getting in through the footwell

Have you checked the youtube video out on the drains?

Unblock them ..if they are blocked

I've just had the engine out my a4, the wiring harness and ecu have to come out with it. The top cover has a rubber seal on it !!! May be worth checking
