Yes it should do, but you won't have the air bag deactivation obviously. Swapping the lock over from yours is easy enough.

But i do have air bag deactivation?
Need it for the lid

I think the only way to deactivate is via Vagcom, but I'm not totally sure you can even do it. Hopefully someone can advise.

Can you deactivate by the key switch in the glove box, or do you have to do it by Vagcom?

with a key, i have late 2004,(end of nov) possible mod

Probably not a mod, I know the B7's had it, so presumably the later B6's did too.
