Hi

I;ve just bought a 2009 A4 2.0TDI and ive got the chance to buy some alloys at a bargain price. Only problem the tyres fitted to them ar slightly wider 255/45/18. Currently, as you all know, it has 235/45/18 fitted. Just wanted to make sure that with the wider wheels it won't rub.

Thanks

welcome,

sorry its bad news I reckon,

dont get them, thats a massive difference, in both width and profile

the 20mm wider size would be fine, that's the stock width for the 19" wheel option but being a 45 profile too, they will look like something from a 4x4

your sidewall height will be 114.75mm vs the stock size which is 105.75mm so you will be adding 18mm to your ride height !

Of course, it depends on how much of a bargain they are. Can you get them without tyres and stick the right sized tyres you need on? Or try and sell on the old tyres, although I suspect they would be a rather difficult size to punt on.
