The S3 in thet vid is an 8P model with a remap though, so don't expect the same type of performance from an 8L model, unless it has Big Turbo power!

That Clio was really quick. Just goes to show what you can do with relatively modest power in a light package. The Clio was at least 100bhp down on both cars but a good 500+kgs lighter.

You'd have to go Big turbo. A well sorted K04 will see you 280bhp max.

Some mods is a bit of an understatement, you need a Big Turbo conversion which will give you around 330bhp for a small sum of £5k or there abouts, then you need some suspension and brakes to cope with the power, so price in approx. £7k for a full blown conversion.

well thats some cash to spend on an s3 and getting just over 300 bhp has any one done this ? and would it be better to just get a skyline lol

There are many faster cars than the S3 8L for the same money. But then at the end of the day they are not built to the same standards and finish as the S3. Most Jap alternatives are cheaper and easier to tune than the German equivalent. If you want cheap power - go Jap, but then you will not be driving a solid respectable German mobile, you'd be driving rice!

If you want a lot of german for your money, which can compete in straight lines with big boys with little spent, check out the B5 S4 2.7TT v6. Damn sight cheaper and easier than an S3 to get >300bhp.

What the hell is in that clio?

It's a clio 172 but according to the video has 230bhp which is an increase of 58bhp. Now I'm guessing that the only way you can get that sort of increase would be to turbo or SC the engine.

Impressive. I bet the S3 is faster them both in real world conditions
