hi guys

My S3 gone to the garage with its warranty booklet as the cars making a whining noise when on overun at about 70mph.

Any of you guys know what it could be?

The garage said it could be something with the haldex, diff or solenoid. And something my warranty will avoid paying out for at all costs

Any advice or info would be much appreciated

Gearbox? Transfer box?

Hey man welcome to ASN

Just had a call from the garage and was a bit of a false alarm as it was dodgy rear tyres causing it. Worn to hell and had to nails in anyway so there getting changed :)

haha suppose its not all good then

iv had so far;

Timing belt / water pump
Full major service which was nearly £400
Fuel pump cam follower
Steering rack
Transfer box
New springs
Drop links
Top mounts
Tyre
Iv had alignment done twice

It still needs full discs and pads all round and a rear xenon levelling sensor which is nearly £125

Jesus. You haven't had it that long ? Audi's should be reliable hah

I had a lovely foot spa in the car over Christmas that needed the windscreen re-sealed but sounds like your experience has been a lot worse

Ive had in the last twelve months
Discs and pads all round
brand new front bumper(Audi was unable to do proper smart repair)
New turbo(Audi unable to fix rattle)
New coil pack
New propshaft(whining noise)
New front wheel bearings(whining noise also)
Just had full service
All above except service was covered by warranty.
Things outstanding on the to do list
New set of tyres
Gearbox service(DSG)
Haldex service
So still quite expensive spend for 12 months don,t you think:(
