Whine from rear @ speed

Had a quick search through the threads, but couldn't find anything on the 8V forum matching this.

Have had my S3 a few months now and have noticed a hum/whine noise that seems to be coming from further back in the car. It only appears when sitting around 60-70mph and disappears beyond 75. I can't say I can hear it below 60mph either.

My first thought is potentially the tyres and that they are just unusually noisy at these speeds. Wondering if it's worthwhile dropping it to Audi to get it checked out (still under warranty until next May) if the thinking is that it is a bit more than tyres.

My S3 is the same, been like that for as long as I remember. It’s the same after 4 new tyre’s, 1 MOT and all services.

I had the same sound coming from the back of a MK 2 2012 TT Quattro.

I used to get a whine from the passenger side when I used to boot the S3, but that was just the wife moaning and telling me to 'Stop it'
