    Evening all,
I bought a full set of Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, 6 years ago and have covered 20k miles on them, although there is loads of tread left on them, unfortunately one has a ****** screw near the side all and all have some sort of tyre rot/ crack (my fault for using Meguairs tyre shine over the years).
So all 4 needs replacing and was looking at the following and wondered what your thoughts are?

    1. Falken Azensis FK510, interested in them due to wet rating of A and the accidental damage insurance included with the tyre @ £98 each
    2. Michelin Pilot Sport 4
    3. Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 5
    4. Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue (Kwikfit doing these at £98 each after discount)

I'd be mainly using the car to commute and will be covering 50 miles a week.

    Any input will be appreciated.

I haven't owned all of the tyres on your list, but had to buy some for my own car recently and always go full autist when researching the best performance for my ££.

    1. Falken Azensis FK510, interested in them due to wet rating of A and the accidental damage insurance included with the tyre @ £98 each - Really like Falken as a brand. Never had an issue but haven't tried this tyre.
    2. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 - Great dry tyre. I think Costco are doing £100 off 4 of these which might make them a no brainer.
    3. Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 5 - I actually went for this tyre when I bought some for the S5 recently :) Happy so far and ticked all of my boxes.
    4. Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue (Kwikfit doing these at £98 each after discount) - I don't touch Pirelli.

I'd have no hesitations getting the Falkens, but the Michelins and Goodyears are a step up. The Michelin probably slightly edges it but then it comes down to cost, in my humble opinion.

Good evening chap, it's been a while since you last posted and i'm glad see you still have the B7.:icon thumright:

I've tried a few brands on my old bus, wasn't impressed with the Falkens nor the pilot sports, I did find the Goodyear eagles to be excellent last time round and last forever with spot-on dry and wet handling, so just recently fitted a nice new set around on the veemans.

so no3 on your list would be my recommendation.:thumbs up::yes:

anyway , nice to see you back on the forum chap.:salute:

    Thanks guys.

Rob, yes mate still have the B7 but no longer can do anything car related as other matters have taken over the past couple of years, so much so I only washed the car just twice this year!

Just checked, Kwikfit are doing the Goodyears for £380 for all 4.
    After "Autumn" discount code.
This actually works out cheaper than the Falkens!

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 fitted, been great in dry and wet, got them supplied and fitted by Costco,
My son has a card, and they did a great job, they took pictures of my wheels first which I liked.

Pilot Sport 4's are hard to beat.

Also keep an eye out for Michelin cashback offers,

I got mine at 10% from the supplier and then £50 from Michelin themselves because I bought x4

Afternoon all, just ordered the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 @ £95 each supplied and fitted from kwikfit. I don't got Kwik Fit or Halfords but on this occasion for these particular tyres, they are the cheapest. Booked it in for next Monday - I guess I'll find out then!
Michelins are slightly dearer hence the Goodyear route. I have always used Vredestein and Dunlops so a little excited for the premium branded tyres!

Thank you all for your input.

As soon as I pulled up to my drive from work earlier, the tyre with the screw has more gone down significantly, out comes the spare tyre!!

Got the tyres fitted earlier today..... Goodyears.....
DOT date code 3 has 3220 and one has 5219, the latter almost 10 months old - should I be worried? They tell me as long as it's within a year of manufacture then it's fine, but then we're talking about Kwikfit here!

Oh, and F/O/S bearing is dying.... more costs.... Anyone know where we can get Genuine Audi parts from at good prices?

Can anyone please shed some light....
Re tyre issue... 1 being from 52nd week of 2019 and the rest are from 32nd week of 2020, obviously the latter 3 I have no concerns. Is this okay?

    Rob? Or anyone?

I'd say it was new old stock, maybe an over order but if it has been stored correctly then no reason to worry.
Maybe if it had been fitted or left out in daylight for the time stored it may be a slight issue but i'd have no probs with it if it had been stored correctly .

I couldn't even tell the difference until I looked at the date.

That is the thing though, it is very easy to get paranoid with dates etc sometimes.
If you look at the bigger picture how often have you had tyres replaced and looked at the manfact date, probably never before, I really wouldn't worry about it Chap.

Maybe take a pic of all four with the date stamp and add it to your receipt etc, should it start to fail (very unlikely with a top brand such as goodyear) then you have a valid reason to claim a replacement tyre.

    best of luck.

No different from having a full size spare wheel in the boot with a new tyre on which has never been used , if you had a flat you'd just wack on the spare and use it for as little or long as required, the last thing you would do is check the date code before fitting it.

It has an impact with regards to warranty though. Not sure what Goodyears are but Michelin used to be 3 years from date of manufacture.

Following is response from Goodyear regarding this issue....

    Thank you for your email.
We do not have a specific age for fitting tyres as long as they have been stored correctly as Kwik Fit do.
Our tyres come with a 5 year warranty that runs from date of production or date of purchase , so as long as you keep your receipt all 4 tyres will have a warranty starting from the purchase date.

So all good - thank God!

As for the tyre shine...The response from Goodyear....

A list of tyre cleaning products reviewed by Goodyear which are available to the consumer.
•3M:Wheel and Tyre Cleaner, product number 39036
•Armor All: Extreme Tire Shine, product numbers 48530L and 49500L
    •Liqui Moly: Reifen Glanzschaum 1609, Gummi-Pflege 1538
    •Meguiars: Endurance High Gloss Reifenglanzgel
    •Koch Chemie: Plast Star
    •Nigrin: Reifenpflege (product nr 74075), Performance Reifen-Glanz (73896)
    •Zaino: Z16 Perfect Tire Gloss

So no issues there either. Although they've not listed the Autoglym Tyre Dressing - I think I'll continue to use it!
