Just fitted Ferraro DS2500s to front TTRS calipers on my S3 great bite, only on a week so I’m not pushing them to hard yet, not seeing any performance drop off when hot, need to be firm when cold but warm up pretty quick. Nice progressive feel in pedal too, would recommend over minted 1144s I had last time round.

Look forward to pushing them hard

I use EBC red stuff. They are good but when the time comes I'll go for something with more bite

Pagid RS4-2. Amazing pad but they are noisy. What i did was buy a very cheap set of subaru pads just to get the diagonal anti squeal shim and that shut them up for good. Stopping power when warm is fantastic.

I just bought a TTRS caliper setup for my 8N TT from the classifieds on here. Came with redstuff pads which are OK if you aren't going to be going to the track too often. So been looking into replacements.
Fortunately the pad profile on the TTRS calipers is the same as a lot of other performance cars such as the EVO and Subaru STI so almost all of the performance brake compounds are available.
With all the weight I have taken out of the car it's around 1280Kg so a good deal lighter than a stock TT and with a very much bigger pad and brake disc I don't think I need to be going for a full race compound to get decent performance.
Brake pad compounds are one of those things that are difficult to compare, as you could put two different drivers in the same car on the same track. One will have no problems where as the other will end up with brake fade and probably say the pads are rubbish.
Without a doubt it seems the top end Pagid pads are the best when it comes to how they work, they can also be eye wateringly expensive. But the RS4-2 does seem to be a perfect pad as an every day drive / track day pad. Apart from the sqeualing that can occur.

Interestingly from my Googling the Aston Martin DB9 uses Pagid pads with a RS4-2-2 compound. This is quite similar to the RS4-2 compound but is actually ECE90 spec so you can legally use them on the roads. They have a similar performance to RS4-2 but the top end temp is about 50 degrees less and the mu value of RS4-2 pads increase around 350 degrees where as a RS4-2-2 pad stops flat . That is probably down to a slight change in pad material and also the requirements of ECE90 which means the mu value has to stop within a defined window. If they are good enough to stop an 1800 kg 500bhp V8 then I think they would do quite well with my car.
You can get the DB9 pads from Carparts4less for around £155 with the discount.

DS2500 isn't on my list as there are as many people that seem to like it as say that it's rubbish. Expensive as well for what it is.

Mintex M1155 is a possibility they are cheap enough.

Carbon Lorraine pads also get fairly good reviews but are a metal sintered pad. Quite hard on discs and pads with a lot of metal in they can conduct a lot of heat into the caliper. The CL pads contain a lot of copper so really good for transferring heat. The RC5+ looks a possibility.

Carbotech XP8 and XP10 seem to get good write ups as well. Not the cheapest though.
