Which Oil on Service

Hi Guys

I need a bit of help. I've given my TT225 for a service today when the car was being booked in I noticed on the paperwork that the oil being used was 5L of Mobil. I queried this with the service desk they replied in saying that this is the oil they put in and that Castrol SLX is just for topping up.

Is this the case has anyone else had any experience of this. Will mobil be ok for my car in the longrun? Will it still be ok to top it up with Castrol Longlife 2? Your help would be much appreciated.

Yeah Mobil 1 (0-40) is VW503.01 approved.

Most people use either Mobil 1 or Castrol SLX (Not SLXII!).

Either will be fine.
