Just bought a 2011 170 Quattro and have filled it full with diesel. However the gauge is only showing 3/4 full.

Checked the readings in VCDS. Am I right that the fault is with sender 1? Should they both show the same or similar value or will one always be lower as that side of the tank is diff size?

You ever get an answer to this? I tank my car and the gauge shows just over 3/4 ‍♂️

Sender 1 with full tank should be around 147 ohms.
Sender 2 with full tank should be around 140 ohms.

In answer to the OP, sender 1 is faulty.

dhiren, you need the actual live readings to diagnose which sender is at fault.

Looks like you either have a very small tank or both senders appear faulty. Odd that they both read similar though so it may be a calibration gremlin rather than knackered senders.

Thanks Garrett

I've no idea, so just going to get it booked in somewhere to be checked. Filling £80+ of fuel and never seeing the needle full breaks my heart! haha
