Which brand water pump.

Its cam belt time do obviously changing water pump at same time.
I understand that I need the plastic impeller bladed one. But can anyone tell me which brand.

Would like to get oem quality part but avoid paying the dealership tax on it.

Why would you need the plastic one over the metal impeller?

I understand the metal one leaks through the shaft and the plastic is same design as original equipment.

From my personal experiance I have never had any issues with the metal impeller on all 4 my 20vT's... I also dont like the idea of fishing out plastic pieces out my water system when it does fail.

New OE pumps with plastic impellers appear to be fine... most people that have had issues with pump failure to do with the impeller are on their first pump... all the engines I have seen (Bill's Ibiza included) with metal impeller pumps have leaked through the shaft..

I have used an OE one for both my previous engine and my new engine build... both have plastic impellers

Ive always used metal ones (tdi, 1.8t and 1.8) never noyiced any leaking going to have to check now when I get home

Going with genuine part from tps

Works out to be about £25 after return of my old one.

My first pump failed and it was replaced with a plastic one again and all has been well these last 2 years.
