Upgrading my front brakes to TTRS Brembo’s.what brake fluid is the best Dot 5??? And what make fluid are people using and where did you buy it??
I’m running forrodo DS2500 pads.

Cheers

I wouldn't bother with DOT5, its very expensive and not recommended for cars with ABS as far as i am aware, works ok with motorbikes. has a higher boiling point than DOT 3 or 4 which is basically just anti freeze ( don't use anti freeze though) :)

Don't use DOT5 - it's not compatible with any other fluid, can be incompatible with some systems and is unnecessary. DOT5.1 spec is the best in terms of high temp handling parameters, but a high quality DOT4 fluid can be just as good if not better for that.

I use Motul RBF 600 and it offers a good combination of performance at high temps, plus all the benefits of normal fluid used for road cars - https://www.opieoils.co.uk//p-894-m...fully-synthetic-dot-4-brake-fluid-rbf600.aspx

Agree with lesh, your problem would be getting all the old DOT3 and 4 out of the system before filling with DOT 5. and for very little gain.

Dot 5 is silicone fluid intended for old classic cars with crap brakes so don't use it.
Dot 5.1 is however for modern cars with ABS, perfectly ok for your newish car on the road. If you go on track or have big BHP then Dot 4 is the one to have as they have higher boiling temperatures. The best of them will have the boiling temperature written on the pack. If you are feeling flush then the best you can buy is Castrol SRF, you'll faint on reading the price.
As mentioned before DOT4 Motul 600 or ATE blue are very good.

As above don't use DOT 5 ever in a road car, It's a silicone based fluid and isn't designed to be used in modern road car brake systems.
You can use DOT5.1 which has higher dry and wet boiling temps than standard DOT 4. I use Motul RBF600 in my TT as it's a reasonable price and has very good performance.
It's cheaper to buy from Ebay Opie oils store unless you have a discount code fro the Opie oils store.

If you want a 5.1 brake fluid Comma 5.1 is pretty good.
