evening all, just hit 270'000 km in my 2002 A6 2.5 tdi, and get the feeling the wheel bearings might be next to go. Anyone who has replacd the bearings, could you tell me at what Km you Replaced them?
Regards from Germany.

When you've got play in the wheel/s.

over 200,000 miles and they are still good.

Thanks for chiming in Scottie,
I had been chasing a vibration at the time and was considering the wheel bearings as a source. Bottom line is they are still good. (Now have 282k on the clock)
Now looking at prop shaft support bearing as the vibration is in the seat (found a support bearing on eBay from the UK)
And the hunt for no vibrations continues....

Front akles/inner/outer CV's? I have slight vibration on mine from the right front output shaft bearing to the CV joint.

I had all front drive shafts and tie rods etc replaced during the hunt....

Fit a FAG or Skf bearing if you can, i have fitted a febi bearing onto my s4 last year and it starts to make same noise as before... Buy cheap, buy twice they say !

In uk bearings go quicker due to roundabouts and spirited driving, i change many front ones on the a6 and none yet to the rear...

thanks for the advise Chris, will source some good bearings for end of summer job..
