When did the B8 become the B8.5?

Hey guys looking to get the RS style grille for my A4 Avant.

its a 62 plate would this classify it as a facelift model? how do you tell?

It's easier to tell with the SLine. As the DRLs went from single LEDs to an LED light bar. Mines a 62 plate and it's the B8.5 so I'm pretty sure yours would be. That's about as helpful as I can be. Sorry.

Look at the grill - there is a big difference. Have a look below - as you can see the B8 has rounded top corners:

The B8.5 doesn't - fogs are also different.

The headlights on the B8.5 taper to a point at the inboard end.

I believe the switch over was March 2012 with the 12 plate.. I've got a 12 plate, mid-March 2012 and it's a B8.5. I've seen Feb 2012 (11 plate) ones that are B8's.

It's also very obvious from the front end, as stated by the kind fellows above.

Agree mine march 2011 but 8.5 speedo doesn't say 200mph, post, good enough for me

The inner of the rear lights taper down with b8 and taper up with our 8.5s
