Guys i have a 5 dr sportback which has stock wheels of 16” but im planning to upgrade now to 19 x 8.5 et18

Would i face any issues with it fitting and also when i drop my car?

ET18? yes I suspect you'll have issues. I don't have 19" so I can't provide the definitive answer but 18x8 ET45 are on the limit - maybe 2-3mm in it.

What size tyres are you thinking?

so you are going to go with 245/35/19 on 19x8.5 et 18 and adding 25 mm spacers? LOL

At 19x8.5 I think you’ll run into rubbing issues.

@Kevin mathews - check the ET of the alloys you’re looking at. Don’t even bother if they are an ET18.

Don’t go for any more than an ET of 42 but with an 8.5” wide alloy you may still get guard rubbing.

My current alloys are 18x8 ET45 (225x40x18).
My previous alloys (factory) were 18x8.5 ET55 but with 12.5mm spacers making an effective ET of 42.5. I had guard rub with this.

Any wider and it will look like a roller-skate.
