I had my car cleaned today and the jet washer managed to lift off the paint on both rear wheels.
The car is a 2013 A3 2.0tdi Sport model with 18” wheels polished and painted.
I spoke to a wheel refurb place in Kent with an excellent reputation and they advised it would be around £100 per wheel for removal, car storage, powder coating the wheels, more for diamond cut and paint. I’d probably want to get all four wheels done as there is some light corrosion on all wheels.
If I buy a set of aftermarket alloys from a vendor on eBay, it’s £450.
Am I better to fix my existing wheels, or replace them with new aftermarket and sell the originals, cost would be the same.
