whats this do and why..............

what does this silver flex pipe do and why is it not looking secured to anything? iv put a cable tie on one end to see if it does anything different, but it don't feel like its meant to be tight as it dont look like it ever has been,

so what's it for and why is it lose?

at a guess id say it is just to protect the pip from heat mate

should the rest in that area not be shielded up like that then ?

I guess for whatever reason that pipe is the most likely to be affected by heat. I'll have a look at mine tomorrow and see if its the same.
