What vag com to get?

New to the vag side, a friend of mines heavily into vags, and he has a vag com he got off of eBay, does anybody recommend which one to buy, I'm not after the genuine stuff.


And a bit of a side question, what is the difference between a genuine one and say the £10 ones?

The non-genuine stuff is stolen goods... the Chinese steal the licensing and enable the user to run stolen software. Also, the non-genuine stuff is known to brick modules and damage DLC connectors. Buyer beware. Non-genuine will not receive support from those moving the genuine products - the people supporting these forums and your questions.

I didn't mean the non genuine as such, I meant the blue cables on eBay with vcds lite?
