What have you done today?

Yeah roughly £300 mate dependent on exchange rate, very good quality piece of kit though.

The POS is back on the road!

I was out and about far too early this morning (well... too late as I didn't actually go to bed last night) to take advantage of the clear night... started this little lot around 2.30am, finished around 3.30am

16 shot panoramic (2 rows of 8 images)

To be safe I took a single shot too
20170425-96dpi-IMG_6044-Edit.jpg

...and got one of the daily....
20170425-96dpi-IMG_6050.jpg

Next time I'll take the S3 :)

Lots of light pollution sadly but I would have to travel a fair bit to get less and thats a tricky thing to plan around our lovely weather in the UK :(

A single unedited image from the series used in the panoramic...

I need a bit more practice in Photoshop to get the best out of these... and a darker place to take them of course :)

Been so busy with work I've not had any time to work on the S3

Anyway supercharger is now in the bay, will need to trim a few things to get the rest to fit

What head unit is that mate? Is it a direct replacement for the double din or will it need some 'adjustment' to get it to fit? :grinning: Thanks

No not a direct replacement, its designed for the B7 A4 so you have to modify the front panel the same as you would when fitting an RNSE headunit to fit.

I finally fix this ...

... everything went quickly until this stage ...
48.jpg

... It took me more than an hour while I cleaned the last layer of adhesive, I spent the entire nail cleaner bottle (acetone) and my wife aint gonna be happy when she will noticed ...
49.jpg

... From here on, it was easy work; adhesive spray, then foam (backing), then again glue and finaly leather piece ...

... I obviously missed something ... you gonna put supercharger on S3 engine instead of the turbo or you have a purpose to keep both ????

I'm going to use the supercharger to help spool the HTA3582r turbo sooner on my 2.1 engine. It will make the engine almost lag less

I hope it will make 1 bar of boost at 1500/1800 rpms, the supercharger will shut off when the turbo is making good boost.

Not exactly today but all the same :)

Had my first B&W film processed and finally received the negatives and scans back this weekend..

Taken with my Canon AE-1 and a 50mm f1.8 lens... the negatives were sent as 8mp TIFF scans... not massive but good enough for now... imported them into Lightroom and did a few basic tweaks to correct exposure and contrast..

Pretty happy with the results considering its been a while since using a film camera...

Loaded a new film in to the camera now and will see how it goes...

Also had a go at focus stacking... 10 images stacked in Photoshop to get a deeper depth of field when using a macro lens close to the subject..

Happy enough with that... need to faff some more :)

Let us know how you get on mate!

so i put it all together last night. just waiting for the silicone to dry.
All in so far its cost me around £5.

Paint tin, adapters for the air hose and normal hose and some washers to make a better seal. also used some high temp silicone - same stuff used on the sump.

close up of the adapters

and finally all put together. I also have for glycerin which i will soak a rag with and then burn it. it should create a good amount of smoke.

Depends what year your car is if it's facelift shouldn't be a problem won't work with prefacelift clocks

I thought it was a 2000 going off your 1st post if it is 2001 (y reg) than it should be a facelift model what centre console controls you have?

Y reg. if you mean on the computer all I can do is view and reset mpg, drive time, average speed. I can see live mpg and fuel left in miles too. Controlled with 2 buttons on the end of the right stalk, another underneath for resetting by holding or turning off display by pressing. When you say centre console i see that as where the handbrake is. I have a leather armrest there but no controls.

Central console under your radio from what you saying it sounds like a facelift you got a digital clock on your cluster if so you should be able to get it

Might help you
Ian you can add this to your guide (for those with questions if the colour fis will work on their clusters) (not hijacking your thread lol)

Pre Facelift Non canbus Cluster begins with 8LO 919 (has analog clock) WONT work with Colour Fis (there is some rare anomaly 920 pre facelift clusters with analog clocks but they wont wont as they dont have the grey connector even though they might have a can engine signal on the green connector, Immo 2)

View attachment 118082

Pre facelift canbus Cluster starts with 8LO 920 (Digital clock) (essentially a facelift clock that they fitted in the last of the Pre facelift models), after production/manufacturing was stopped on the older clocks (Can Clocks will have the door open signals on the fis, Immo 2/3) will work with colour FIS

View attachment 118081

Facelift Canbus Clocks (same as pre facelift, just different foils with new S3 logo and some internal circuitry revisions, also Immo 3) will work with colour Fis

Non Canbus Back (20 pin Red connector)

Canbus Back (Grey Connector) think its 32 pin if i remember correctly

started crying when i realised how much i've really spent on the car this past year, luckily my fiancee doesnt know yet

Bills bills bills

started mocking the headunit in the console, really scared to start trimming the bezel to fit, im going to change the climate control surround back to matt cf as the gloss is just not working for me at present.

Scared to trim

and this is how it looks powered, didnt wire the button illumination as i just wanted to see proof of life

It works

Test

and my HID kit and Cree Led front indicator finaly arrived

Hid kit
