Finally fitted the Facelift Vents this weekend, definately not a five minute procedure

Last look at the PFL Vents before removal

    PFL Vent right.jpg
    PFL Vent Left.jpg

after removal i had to use the soldering iron to pierce a hole in the venting and then made it bigger with a screw driver

    making the wiring hole.jpg

After feeding in the wiring i connected it to the led of the ashtray so that it also works with the interior dimmer

    wiring in.jpg

    FL vents then fitted

    FL vent in.jpg

    and voila job completed

its an A6/S6 C5 FL headlight switch, requires quite an extensive bit of trimming to fit, i still need to make some minor trimming and adjustments before i'll be satisfied with the final fit

Thought about it, but decided not to, as I'm running standard internals. Not really chasing 300bhp to be honest.

  9. Replaced tired hatch struts with Nitro-lift struts. What a difference, highly recommended!

Rebuilding the turbo in the boot of my A6! lol I was suppose to get it rebuilt at the time of getting the CHRA, but my mate felt the hotside was too filthy, so took it away to shot blast it all clean, so the turbo is now fresh as a daisy for fitting! :)

Got my New AH Fabrications V2 on the Car Saturday and with some light modifications she is sitting lovely!! FMIC.jpg

Also got new Tires up front as my inner Edges were a tad knackered, Went to the fitters with the idea of getting Toyo Proxes T1 Sports however when i got there they had a pair of ContiSportContact 5's to be sold at cost as someone had driven all of 5 miles on them and decided he dident like them and brought them back. £60 a tyre and they still had the fresh markings in them. So far a brilliant tyre, Gives excellent feel and turn in response but they are a tiny bit harsh at Motorway speeds

My trip to Badger5 yesterday was thankfully quite a success!!! More than impressed with what he has done with the car and it now drives Spectacularly! few bits to get for the car now such as a maf and a new fuel pump and then she will be right as rain until its time to go hybrid.

Also extra thanks to bill for increasing my knowledge on the 1.8T engines!!

Now for the bit you actually want to Read.

Done the rear axle bush's and front brakes. Rear axle bush's took an hour and a half reasonable easy once I hammered them out.

Undo the manifold from the block with the turbo attached was how it came out on my S3. I'm also running a 3" down pipe, this was the easiest way?

I ask cuz I wanna port out my turbo and would rather not pull the head if I don't have to. I also have 3" DP. I'm all good disconnecting that after pulling the sub frame. After that I've not tackled anything further.

So assuming this is the way
    - remove everything above to undo top DP nut
    - get under and undo subframe and rack and let it dangle
    - undo DP (remove?)
    - undo mani
    - undo tip & turbo oil and water lines
    - Lift out mani and turbo as one???

I know most of the nuts on the driver's side are accessible. What about the ones behind the turbo?
Any special tools needed to detach the manifold?

I wish I could answer you bud, but my mate is tackling it for me. He told me it was easy to undo the manifold and remove from the top. Exhaust and dp is still in situ, turbo was lifted off with mani as one unit.

As I missed out on AITP again I thought I'd crack on with some pipework upgrades I had ordered a 63mm MAP pipe from Stuart at IWS Developments which replaces the restrictive OE pipe. I also ordered a 63mm-60mm reducing elbow, 63-70 reducing elbow, 70mm swaged alloy pipe (100mm long) a 70-64mm reducing elbow and a 70-80mm reducing elbow (for when 80mm tb is fitted)

Which kind of looks like this:

Pulled out the old, and took a comparison shot:

And set about trimming and fitting the new
    [IMG]

Fits really well and should hopefully be a good improvement

I got a mk2 TT airbag cover off e-bay and a round airbag from a 6n2 polo and made a single stage airbag for my 8P S3 fbmfsw, I tried a few different vw/audi airbags before I found one the right size, it just needed an adapter bracket fabricated to mount the polo bag in place of the TT one.

Next job is to get the multi-function buttons to work the rns-e

Have removed K04 turbos from S3's 'easily' with not removing the head on the std manifolds... they are a little more awkward than K03's for sure but doable... probably getting confused with the work required to fit old relentless manifolds as they were a complete c*** to do...
