What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Yes, didn't like it either, so took it off.
I think the diffuser looks good, but has a bit of a lip around the top, cant seem to push it in any more but as I said will
Check clips are in.
cant really cut of anymore really, and followed the install instructions.
Would like to see a close up picture of eyedpipers one to compare.

Next job fit the RS4 grill and front bumper repair.

Glad that see you've got it on Richard, does seem to be a slight but sticking out in the middle. Can you trim any more off to allow it in further?
Just checked mine, and it did seem to have popped out slightly.

Today went better. I used the method shown in the vid to remove my tie rod end bolts. I had them both out in 15 mins, I useda old G clamp instead of a ball joint press.
I just wonder how well it does work on a stuck pinch bolt though.

Billy B12 kit all but finished.
Couldn't get the off side camber bolt out to be lower the hub to get the old spring out. The bolt just spins the bush, so they're goosed. 2 new rear control arms and bolts on order. So the shock is on there, but not the spring yet.
Other 3 corners complete, took it for a quick run and to say I'm impressed is an under statement. Totally transformed the side, and she sits much better now too.

Before shots.

Measured up 15mm from the bottom and cut with a dremel using Ez SpeedClick cutters, good set if you have a mains powered Dremel.
Its fitted and took pictures, but it still looks if it's not quite in place in the middle, there is a bit of a ledge, it might just sit that way
I will get under and check all the clips are in place next week.
A big thank you to AvantMike for doing the paint work for me, and Rob who found the Install manual.

Much better than the s-line valance Richard, and not many around either .
Nice work.:icon thumright:

I still think it would have looked great in carbon finish, but that's for another day.

have a good one.

When i've finished messing around under the bonnet i may re-order one of these for the old bus, but that's some way off yet.

Thanks for putting up the picture, it's not much different to yours, I will get under next week and check the clips are engaged,
no sure if I could cut anymore off, not alot left really as you can see from the picture.
Will post after I have checked.

I recieved an insurance payout for the previous one that was " lost in transit" , well that's what the courier company maintained, so yes its still abit steep but at least i'm not paying out twice, anyway it's a way off yet and things change ...

I am glad Rob, it's not a job task I'd like to do again in a hurry.
And the upside is all my control arm rubbers are in good shape. So no pinch bolt removal for some time.
The only ones that need replacing are the tie rod ends, just hoping they're not too seized to the rods.

Been out this afternoon to get the old bus MOT'd this time round with the OE cat back on.
The old bus went straight through with ease, no probs whatsoever so i'm a happy chappy on that front, just need to sort out a long term solution.

A faster car straight out the box?

Been tempted by the B8 S4, 330 odd BHP as standard, 400+ with only a tune, far better MPG and will pass emissions. Looks basically the same as our cars....

Is it worth the 20k to change?

+ Interest + Depreciation?

Coming down in price now, looks like a good time to consider buying one. I’ve been thinking about swapping mine for a newer one. Lads on the s4 owners getting 490bhp pretty consistently. Pretty crazy figures for not huge investment and still have practicality.

Yeah, the opinion seems to be that they were 'de-tuned' to distance themselves from the RS4 at the time. I can't think of another motor you could get another 50% power from so cheaply and reliably. Ticks a lot of boxes for sure.

Just changed my track rod ends, has to be one of the easiest jobs, especially as I freed the pinch bolts off last weekend.
Thankfully they were my only rubbers that are shot.

Before and after, plus couple of pics of brake upgrade.
RS4 at front, Zimmerman drilled discs at rear. Trying to upgrade rears to 330mm is proving difficult.
Wheels are now 19”x9”. Offset may be slightly too wide?
H&R coilovers and H&R ARBs front and rear.

To do: cold air intake and exhaust.
Does anyone do a Stage 2 tune maximising for torque rather than bhp?
In the real world acceleration is more important than top speed, especially on twisty A roads.

Not a very dignified exit on the scrapper truck, still when the time has come .

It's time had come, but it was a great donor. It was an S-Line and saved two Special Editions from the scrap heap so a good way to depart imo

Down to two now

ETA: It was also at 201k miles!

thats looks like a nice increase, what enhancememts did you make prior to the remap?

Just realised yours is a 3.0 tdi , thought it was a 2.0tfsi for some reason, good gains still.

Just gutted the back boxes and a panel filter, the torque is relentless now. I used to think my 220BUL was quick but this thing standard would have blown that away. Have to say not noticed much of an increase in mpg thus far

There was gearbox and all sorts but not worth the time to strip.

Plus it’s bad enough having a parts car lying about. I don’t want bits at the house forever.

Spare leather interior, couple boxes of parts and 4 sets of Special Ed. Wheels is more than enough!
