Its ok, I wouldn't say its harsh but it Has stiffened the car up a lot. But if your lowering your car then you have to accept abit of comfort gone i suppose. I used the shocks already on the car i would suggest changing them also as i reckon it would help the ride qulity alot.
Fitted my air vent boost gauge mod. Used a 2nd air vent off ebay and removed all the interior fins. Used the Turbosmart boost gauge and ran the vac line through the firewall behind the glovebox where the main wiring loom goes through. Hooked it upto a forge boost tap on the PCV pipe that BCS fitted when they did my Powervalve exhaust and who very kindly gave me an extra tap adapter for it and some of their extra thick vac line. Easy job really. The only tricky bit was getting through the firewall. It's a little brighter than the rest of the dash at night but not overly so and doesn't get distracting. Is brilliant though I love it. Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk
Nothing done as such. Just gave her a wash and took her out for a photoshoot with the sexy new camera
Any chance you could take a photo of under the bonnet where the gauge connects to? I'm going to be doing this next week but not fully sure where to connect to.
Same method that I used, getting through the bulkhead was definitely the trickiest part.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Everyone, I have a 2007 A3 5dr that I want to retrofit onto the car. It has a MFSW with trip computer and MPG stuff as well I followed the guide on here, the install went well and now comes the part of coding in the modules to make it work properly. First, With VCDS I went into engine module, Coding II and then entered 11463 (I think) and turned took the key out for a minute or so, then turned on the ignition again. (No green light on dash for the cruise) Then i went to steering wheel, and changed the code to make it so it went from 2 - 4, Board computer W/O cruise to Board computer W Cruise. Am I missing something here? The error code that I get from the engine module is: P1699 - 009 - Missing Message from Steering Wheel Electronics - Intermittent The steering module that I have is HW: 8P0 953 549 F which I am lead to believe is the right one that it should have? When looking in adv. measuring blocks for the steering ECU it can see that there is a CC stalk as it can tell when it is pulled forwards for on, and pushed back for off as well as speed increase and decrease. Thanks for any advice that people might have!
Had a bunch of messages and queries on how I did the boost gauge air vent, so I've written up a guide of sorts on a new thread, see here: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/boost-gauge-vent-install-pic-heavy.421521/ Hope this helps anyone looking to do this
@phateuk You should be able to run a wire from the dimmer on the headlight switch, which should then dim the boost gauge in line with the rest of the dash. You'll need a wire tap and a resistor to complete the mod, more info here: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/329779-Podi-install
Coded in ‘Scandinavian DRLs’ with VCDS, might not seem like a biggie but I’m really rather proud of myself. I’m trying to get into this a bit more rather than just having a £300 fault scanner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah that's interesting. It's fine tbh, it looks brighter on the photos than it is in person. Cheers for the info though Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk
You could also just put a ressistor in line with the Led wire higher the ressistor the more itll dim the lighting Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
bought a set of downpipes and sports cats from lucifer to go with a Milltek cat back system. Now to get it fitted. Most expensive exhaust swap ever! Damn you Audi for making the cats and downpipes one piece!!
Jelouss (( i cant go that low in london especialh hackey id leave my bumper and sump over a speed hump lol Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
And I’m back... picked up a A3 8V Sport Sportback earlier today A mere 1.4 TFSI CoD but so much more refined, quieter and quicker (subjective) than the old 2.0 TFSI. I cannot overstate how big a jump this is. Guess I shall be frequenting the 8V forums now. Good thing is the car already comes fully loaded to not many mods to do apart from a few cosmetic ones.
I think some minor upgrade like LED lights for now. May also do the CarPlay retrofit and progressive indicators. These days between work, wife and kid I hardly have time so anything involved will probably not happen
Assumed (hoped) diverter valve was the cause of a lack of power since I bought the car. Turns out I was right: Before: After: Made a huge difference, but it was an absolute ****** to get to and needed the worlds smallest ratchet to fit in...but got there in the end!
I installed Carplay in my A3 by following this tutorial https://thecarplayer.com/blogs/news...torial-on-audi-q2?_pos=5&_sid=ee268fef3&_ss=r
Dont think it is bud guide is referring to a 2014 variant i think he in the wrong forums, believe me id love to integrate android auto into my stock head unit Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
Tbh only thing holding me back is the fact i barely drove the s3 with all the work i have so iys not essential otherwise well eventually have to go aftermarket head unit, and thats just stress with the bose amp and speakers etc. Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
True mate I’m working constantly at the minute and it’s an hour each way. Without the tune2air and the US centre console with the Qi charging plate I’d be lost. Really can’t stand the hassle of aftermarket what with Bose and tv etc it’d be a nightmare plus part of me likes the look of the rnse lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Uggh that one thing i need to do is the us centre console but cant find one anywhere Sent from my SM-N976B using Tapatalk
Dude I was in the same boat so I priced up a new one from tps and it was cheaper than buying a second hand one from overseas. The 8V charging plate was a bit of a faf but well worth it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I installed a sleek single din Sony aftermarket that covers all my needs. Had to fiddled with running an ignition wire from the fuse fox and re-arrange the loom to fire up the rear amp but worth it at the end. 85 quids lighter including headunit, loom and fascia adapter but good to go for my media needs and not too out of touch with the OEM colour palette.
Had the lucifer downpipes coupled with a milltek cat back fitted today. Luckily the old pipes came off with no issues. Plus 4 new tyres, new top mounts, H&R springs, lower arm bushes, outer cv boot and a mot. the place that did my last alignment right messed it up at the front tyres had worn through to the core on the inner edges. thanks to Midland VW all sorted now.
On the new springs. Still needs to settle a bit, but I think 30mm is just right. Not too much and not too little.
